HOW TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN 2025!

How to be successful this year (2025)

The Holidays are now officially behind us. We have the blessing to leave all the good along with ugly of 2024 behind us and move into 2025 with a fresh slate.

About 40% of US Adults are setting New Year resolutions. Pretty exciting to see that.

I believe what makes that exciting is those setting New Year’s Resolutions, 70% of the things they want to achieve revolve around Health & Wellness. The top 3 set are…

  1. Exercise More

  2. Eat Healthier

  3. Lose Weight

But sadly, even with all that motivation to achieve better health and wellness… only 9% of people stick with their New Year resolution for the next 365 days, with about half of those setting resolutions giving up by February 1st.

If you have set some New Year resolutions and truly want to be a part of that successful 9% here are some key components to think about…

Specificity of and Clarity on the EXACT GOAL

  1. People often fail because their goal is TOO BROAD or VAGUE. Just look at the list of the Top 3 resolutions… “Exercise more”… well how much more? “Eat healthier”… what does that even mean for you? “Lose weight”… how much weight do you wanna lose?

  2. Becoming specific and making these goals crystal clear sets objective measures of success into play. “Exercise more” may look like working out 30 minutes 4 days a week first thing in the morning. You either achieve or you didn’t and if you didn't, you can pivot to something that is more attainable… maybe that is one 30-minute workout this week, and 2 the next.

  3. Losing weight is my favorite one here to become crystal clear with. “Losing weight” is broad but losing 30lbs by December 31st, 2025 is crystal clear. Here you can create and execute smaller goals before that. In Q1 of 2025, I want to be down 10lbs, By Q2 a total of 15lbs down, etc. This way progress is measured on a smaller scale, which helps build consistency and momentum.

Visualization of Success

Visualizing what the successful accomplishment of your resolution looks like increases your motivation to stay consistent and achieve success. Don’t just visualize the success of following through on your resolution, visual all aspects of life that accomplishing the goal improves. i.e., losing weight will build confidence in you to approach management about the promotion.

Identify Barriers and Hurdles that will Derail you

  1. What, Who, When, and How

  2. What do you have coming up this year that could cause you to derail?

  3. Who in your life tends to cause you to stray from your course?

  4. When are these barriers taking place?

  5. How can you plan to navigate through and around these

  6. Identifying these challenges early on in the goal setting of your resolutions can help you overcome and take detours around the barriers that have gotten in your way before.

Accountability is KEY

  1. If you are not accountable for your goals, you will lose sight of them.

  2. Self-accountability is by far the most important aspect here. I believe this comes down to living by the values you know your highest self holds. Identifying those values and living by them will keep you to those goals.

  3. Public Accountability. Whether this looks like posting to social media daily or weekly with updates. Texting a friend or loved one you trust. Having an outside influence to tie you to what you said you want to accomplish puts more weight on staying true to accomplishing the goal.

  4. Financially Backed, Expert Accountability (HIRE A KNOWLEDGEABLE COACH). There have been studies done to show that those who are held to a financially backed (appointed) accountability source, achieve their goals at a success rate of 95% compared to those who didn’t.

It's not just that you're financially held to this person, the idea is hiring someone who is knowledgeable at the goal you have set to accomplish can help you navigate periods of stagnation and low motivation that are inevitable in this process. If you fall off track, they have the understanding of how to get you back on track quickly. Any questions you may have just meandered through before are addressed right away.

It’s meant to be hard. It’s meant to be uncomfortable. Anything worth doing IS!

YOU CAN DO THIS!

I want you to be successful!
